Entry Point Judaism: Behaving taught by Rabbi Gilah Langner

Posted on November 4, 2018

November 4, 2018 @ 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm –

This 3-part course offers an accessible way into Judaism for both Jews and non-Jews. Using the rubric of Believing/Behaving/Belonging, this second session focuses on Jewish behaviors, including the laws, customs, and rituals governing Jewish life. We’ll discuss the pervasive (and invasive?) elements of Jewish “mitzvot” that cover virtually all aspects of daily life, including food, sex, work, relationships, speech, worship, and more. We’ll also discuss Reconstructionist approaches to the body of Jewish customs and law, and how modern Jews wrestle with the challenges of a demanding tradition. Come with questions and comments; open to all. We’re in the Youth Room.
