Jewish Children’s Education Program and Family Sukkot Program

October 4, 2020, 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

We are inviting families and Kol Amites in general to do two creative projects in time for our Sukkot celebration on Oct. 4, 5 p.m.

First: create your own lulav!  If you have a backyard or nearby park, select three different kinds of branches that you can hold together in your hand as a lulav.  We will ask you to show us your lulav if you’re willing, and tell us about it.  If you can find one tall branch to serve as a “spine,” and two other species with different kinds of leaves, that would be great!

Second, create a model sukkah.  Find scraps of wood, string, glue, leaves, and decorations, and make your own model!  We’d love to see it.  Better still, if you can make a 30-second video about it, we’ll play it at our celebration.  A sukkah is supposed to have at least 2 and a half walls, and the ceiling/roof should be covered with leaves so you can still see through it.  You can even make it edible!
