“MYSTIC SERENADE: A Kabbalat Shabbat of Songs, Stories, Light, and Joy, with Rabbi Jack Gabriel this Friday October 16 at 7:30 PM. He’s a one-of-a-kind Folk/Reggae/songwriting Rabbi. He taught mysticism and led congregations from Capetown to Woodstock NY, and from Kailua-Kona HI to Sonoma CA to Boulder CO, where he now writes, sings, and lives. As a leader in the Jewish Renewal Movement, he teaches bite size Kabbalah and user-friendly stories and songs.
He’s released 9 recordings of his own music; met Bob Marley, and jammed with the Wailers in Kingston, Jamaica; sat in with the Jerry Garcia Band; sang on 4 “Sing Along With Kermit” recordings for Jim Henson; garnered a Juno Award (Canadian Grammy); and was heard across Canada, every Saturday Night on CBC-FM, for 10 years, as an expert on R&B and early Rock n’ Roll.
