Herb Levy will lead a discussion of Ari Shavit’s My Promised Land. Shavit, a columnist for the center-left Israeli daily Ha’aretz, is a fervently patriotic Israeli with an abiding love for Israel’s history and the best of its traditions and institutions. His honest and brutally frank portrait of Israel’s past and its present dilemmas will open a conversation about the difficult choices that Israel faces as it balances real geopolitical challenges with Jewish values. We’ll be downstairs in the Chapel.
