Kol Ami — The Northern Virginia Reconstructionist Community

MLK Day of Service

January 21, 2019, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Barcroft Park
4200 S. Four Mile Run Drive
Arlington, VA

Due to extreme weather conditions on Monday, we are cancelling participation in the EcoAction program.  The program itself may be rescheduled for Saturday Feb. 2.  We will update the website accordingly.  If you would like to consider an INDOOR service project on MLK Day, please sign up here to help set up an apartment for a legal refugee family.  The activity is led by Sue Cohn through Do KindWorks.

EcoAction Arlington in Barcroft Park:  The first group Kol Ami Tikkun Olam project for 2019 is coming up this month with Volunteer Arlington’s MLK Day of Service. Since MLK day is happening around the same time as Tu BiShvat (the “New Year for Trees”), we’re participating in a environmentally themed project sponsored by EcoAction Arlington to clear trash and debris from Four Mile Run Stream, throughout Barcroft Park, and along Four Mile Run Drive. We’ll meet at the restroom/refreshment kiosk near the baseball field. For more info (scroll to the EcoAction project).  Each participant needs to register individually – which you can do here:  (select the EcoAction Arlington project). Please let Mattie Cohan know you’re planning on attending so she can keep track of the participating community members for the project.
