Three of the congregations that pray at 4444 Arlington Boulevard have joined together to sponsor a concert in honor of Peace, in honor of Salaam, in honor of Shalom. The Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington, the Moroccan American Community Organization and Kol Ami (the Northern Virginia Reconstructionist Congregation) have joined with FocusMusic to create a concert they’ve named Peace, Salaam, Shalom. Rev. Fred Small, Huda Asfour and SONiA are in concert on November 18 at 6:30 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington 4444 Arlington Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22204.

Rev.Fred Small, hailed by Pete Seeger as “one of America’s best songwriters,” sings songs of conscience in the tradition of Woody Guthrie, Phil Ochs, and Tom Paxton…. Powerful, affecting, and inviting, Fred’s songs illuminate the goodness and courage of all kinds of people. Fred is now Minister for Climate Justice at the Arlington Street UU congregation in Boston.
SONiA (Rutstein) disappear fear has 17 Award winning CDs including first round Grammy entries for several albums. She writes in Hebrew, Spanish, Arabic, German, and…English. She’s a Cantorial soloist with Beit Tikvah Reconstructionist congregation in Baltimore.
Huda Asfour is a Palestinian oud player living in the DC area.
Proceeds from the show will benefit the Jewish Islamic Dialogue Society.
