Note – this education program has been cancelled as Rabbi Leila is not feeling well.
In Parashat Tzav – a fire is on an altar – and we are commanded to keep that fire alive at all times. “A perpetual fire (esh tamid) shall be kept burning on the altar not to go out.” What is the altar on which we in our contemporary lives place the “fire” that is within us? What does it mean to keep a fire alive within our own hearts and souls? Rabbi Leila’s Adult Educations will be a contemplative approach to the words of this parsha in which we will meditate on these words and on the reality of our own lives and the fire(s) within us.
