Kol Ami — The Northern Virginia Reconstructionist Community

Shabbat Services and Adult Education led by Rabbi Leila Gal Berner

March 12, 2016, 10:00 am - 12:15 pm
Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington
4444 Arlington Blvd.
Arlington, VA 22204

Come join us as we sing, pray, chant and read from the Torah this coming Shabbat morning. Anne Salzberg and Joan Goldfarb will leyn (chant) from the Torah scroll as we explore Parashat Pikkudei – the Torah portion that brings us an accounting and lots of details of the Tabernacle  (mishkan). Why all the details? What do the details of our lives contribute to the quality of our lives? Have you ever done intricate, detail-oriented work that has brought about the creation of something greater than the sum of its parts? Did you (or your perspective) change along the way?  Come and support Anne and Joan as they leyn and consider these questions!

After services, we’ll discuss What is Reconstructionism? Why Mordecai Kaplan, the Founder of  Reconstructionist Judaism is Still Important and Relevant Today.

Please bring dairy vegetarian dishes to share. We will be in the Chapel.
