Kol Ami

The Northern Virginia Reconstructionist Community

Tots and Teens

Tot Shabbat Services

Kol Ami offers a monthly Tot Shabbat separate from the main service, in the Youth Room.  Each month children from ages 0 to 8 are welcome to come with a parent and experience a joyous, musical, interactive, and delightful hour of Jewish song, story, and prayer.

Andrea Cate is Kol Ami’s Tot Shabbat Coordinator. Andrea brings warmth and a wealth of Jewish pride, practices, and passion to her services with the youngest members of the community. She is a graduate of Songleader Bootcamp and brought “Rhythm ‘N Ruach” training to the Northern Virginia region this summer, becoming a certified instructor. In addition to these volunteer roles, Andrea has served her synagogue as President and volunteered as an art educator at her local elementary and an officer for Vocal Music Boosters at her local secondary school. By day, Andrea is a legal assistant. She and her husband David live in the Springfield region with their youngest of three children.

Teens:  Pizza and Talmud for High Schoolers

Sunday nights are pizza and Talmud nights with Dr. Richard Ruth, a long-time Kol Ami member.  Teens are welcome to join in the wide-ranging discussions.  The group meets from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. over pizza.  Please contact Kol Ami at 571-271-8387 for more information.
