Kol Ami — The Northern Virginia Reconstructionist Community

High Holy Days Tikkun Olam Project

Kol Ami High Holidays 5780 Tikkun Olam Project

Thank you for your contributions!!

On Monday, October 14th, Jon Baumgarten, Sarah Baumgarten, and I loaded up a car & a half full of household items and delivered them to the Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area’s offices in Fairfax.  David Mutombo, LSSNCA’s Virginia Director of Refugee Resettlement met us at LSSNCA.  David was very pleased and told us that the amount we donated would help “20, 30, maybe 40” families!  He said to say Thank You to all who participated!
And I want to echo that – thanks to everyone who donated, everyone who helped get stuff to my car, to my den, and back out to LSSNCA (and to everyone who listened to my spiel at the HiHo services)!  This sort of group effort in putting ideals into practice expresses exactly what speaks to me about Judaism and the Kol Ami community.
