Come join us for Shabbat morning services and meet one of our wonderful rabbinic candidates!
Rabbi Lulav (she/her/hers) will be leading our Shabbat morning service—come share in song, prayer, and community as we get to know a candidate for our open rabbi position. Rabbi Lulav is a Reconstructionist rabbi and urban microfarmer in Newark, Delaware, whose work focuses on feeding the hungry and advancing social justice.
After the service, stay for Kiddush Plus, featuring lox, bagels, and all the fixings! Please bring a side dish or dessert to share.
Come for the service, stay for the learning!
From 1:00–2:00 pm, Rabbi Lulav will lead a Teaching & Discussion session focused on “Arami Oved Avi,” a central passage from the Passover Haggadah. Originally from Deuteronomy, the Haggadah translates this phrase as “An Aramean Sought to Destroy my Father.” But what if our ancestor was the Aramean?
Join us to explore this passage with insights from Jewish commentators and discuss how reexamining it might deepen our understanding and celebration of Passover.
