Join us for services on the Shabbat of Hanukkah led by Rabbi Gilah with Jim North on guitar. Our scheduled guest speaker, Dr. Safi Kaskas, is ill but we hope to welcome him to the Rabbi’s Table in January. We’ll daven with Hanukkah melodies, enjoy Hallel, and delve into the story of Joseph and the question of dreams and fate — what happens when Joseph encounters a seemingly random man in the field? What does our tradition believe about destiny and personal choices? How much of our lives are we in charge of?
Families and Kol Amites of all ages are invited to gather by Zoom to light candles, sing songs, schmooze, and more! Schmoozing will begin at 5pm with the Hanukkah program beginning at 5:30. We'll hold our first (annual?) Latke-Hamantash Debate, wherein an esteemed panel of Kol Ami members will expound on the superiority of one of these foods, with arguments buttressed by the cherished tools and techniques of their chosen professions, yada yada yada ... and a good time will be had by all! Kol Ami folks are invited to contribute a 20-30 second video recording of anyone in their family answering the age-old question: Which is better, a latke or a hamantash? Visitors, please click the above event link to register.

Zoom links will be available to members in our e-newsletter, or for visitors by request to .
Matt Adler is a proud American and Israeli. A native of Washington, D.C., Matt lived in the Yad Eliyahu neighborhood of Tel Aviv during the adventures on which this book is based.
